Glitchless for Steam
Connect your game's Steam page and each review lands next to the build it was written about: how many say it stutters, how many reviewers played on a Steam Deck, and the frame times and crashes Glitchless measured on that build. Your coding agent reads the same thing.
What it reads from Steam
-
Reviews, by build
Every review in every language, sorted into positive, negative and negative about performance. Stutter, lag, fps, freezes and crashes are picked out in English and eight other languages, and each review counts for the build that was live when it was written.
-
The Steam Deck share
Steam says which reviewers played mostly on a Steam Deck and for how long. Each build's row shows that share, so "it stutters" from Deck players reads differently from the same words on desktops.
-
What you measured on that build
Beside each build's reviews: the sessions, frame-time p95 and crash-free sessions Glitchless measured on its version, and the build before it.
-
Players online, against your data
Steam's count of players online, every hour, next to the sessions Glitchless saw playing at that minute. The difference is how much of your game's play has telemetry.
-
Builds and branches
With your publisher Web API key: which build went live on which branch and when, so reviews split by the exact Steam build and a beta can be checked before it ships.
-
Wishlists, units and returns
With a Financial API Group key: wishlist adds and deletes, units sold and returns, by day.
Connect it.
In Glitchless Cloud. The App ID is all it needs; two optional keys add builds and sales.
- Open
Open Integrations in the dashboard and choose Add integration, then Steam.
- App ID
Paste the number from
store.steampowered.com/app/…, and your publisher and financial keys if you have them. - Sync
It reads back as far as your plan keeps data, then syncs every hour. A Steam page joins your dashboard.
Then ask your agent
Steam reviews about stutter went up after our last build. Which build was it, what are players saying, how many played on a Steam Deck, and what did Glitchless measure on that build compared with the one before?
What your agent does with it
When negative reviews about performance rise after a build, glitchless_triage raises a finding: at least 3 of them, a share 10 points above and 1.5 times the 30 days before. It names the build, the topics, the Steam Deck share and the GPUs reviewers list, next to what Glitchless measured on that version and the one before.
glitchless_store_reviews reads the reviews themselves, filtered by build, positive or negative, a word or topic, Steam Deck players or a GPU. The finding points the agent at glitchless_compare_versions and glitchless_performance for that version, and at glitchless_deck_measure when most of the reviewers played on a Deck.
If your game uses Steamworks, the Unity, Godot, Unreal and web SDKs also send each session's Steam build, branch, Steam hardware, Proton, controller and language, so every chart can split by beta branch or by Steam Deck against desktops. They never send a Steam ID.
What it never does
- Reply to a review or change anything on Steam: every call is a read.
- Read or keep a reviewer's Steam ID, name or other reviews.
- Show a key again: the dashboard keeps its last four characters as a hint.
Not yet
- Steam doesn't say which build a review was written on, so a review counts for the build live when it was written. When your sessions send their Steam build, that's exact.
- Epic, itch.io, GOG, the Microsoft Store and consoles have no integration yet.
Questions
Does Glitchless reply to reviews or change my Steam page?
No. It only reads: reviews, the review score, players online, patch-note titles and, with your keys, builds, wishlists and sales.
Do I need the publisher key?
No. Without it you get reviews, the score, players online and patch notes, and reviews are matched to builds through the builds your sessions send or your patch notes. The key adds the exact build history of each branch.
Where do I find the keys?
In Steamworks, Users & Permissions → Manage Groups. The group that has your app holds the publisher Web API key (builds and branches); a Financial API Group holds the key for wishlists, units and returns. Owners and Admins of the Glitchless workspace can add them, and they're encrypted when they arrive.
Does it read Steam IDs?
No. Neither the integration nor the SDKs read a reviewer's or a player's Steam ID or name.
How often does it sync, and how far back?
The first sync reads back as far as your plan keeps data: 14 days on Free, up to 90. Then reviews and players online every hour, the review score and patch notes every 6 hours, wishlists and sales once a day. Sync now on the Steam page runs one straight away.
Can I use it without Glitchless Cloud?
The open-source server has the Steam reader and the panels, but connecting a store, keeping its keys and syncing it every hour is part of Glitchless Cloud, on every plan including Free.
